Handcrafted Brass Dhoop Dani | Cottage Arts
A distinctive handcrafted brass Dhoop Dani featuring a perforated domed lid, an intricately engraved bird motif and an elegant sculptural stand. With its antique brass finish and traditional detailing, this piece combines ritual utility with the timeless appeal of Indian metal craftsmanship.
Height: 6 inches | Width: 7.5 inches | Depth: 3.25 inches
This beautifully handcrafted brass Dhoop Dani is a striking example of traditional Indian metalwork, distinguished by its openwork dome, rounded incense bowl and uniquely designed stand.
The domed lid features elongated perforations framed by finely engraved borders, allowing fragrant smoke to escape during use. A pointed finial crowns the lid, while the rounded bowl beneath gives the piece its classic traditional form.
One of its most distinctive features is the ornamental stand decorated with bird motifs and curved arches. The sculptural base, textured feet and carefully engraved details lend the Dhoop Dani an unusual character, setting it apart from conventional incense burners. The antique brass finish, enhanced by darker accents, highlights the engraved patterns and gives the piece a beautiful aged appearance.
Traditionally, a Dhoop Dani is used to burn dhoop or incense during prayer, meditation and other spiritual rituals. Beyond its functional purpose, this piece serves as an attractive decorative artefact that reflects India's rich heritage of handcrafted brassware.
Display it in a pooja room, meditation space, entrance or living room, or style it alongside other traditional brass objects for a curated heritage-inspired setting.
