This magnificent Panjurli Theyyam mask is a handcrafted brass representation inspired by the powerful ritual traditions of Theyyam from Kerala. Panjurli is traditionally associated with the Panjurli Daiva, a revered spirit deity in the ritual traditions of coastal Karnataka and northern Kerala.

The mask features a highly expressive face with large, prominent eyes, a distinctive moustache, broad smile and finely sculpted facial features. Surrounding the face is an elaborate ornamental halo, topped with a dramatic arrangement of cobra and serpent motifs, beautifully engraved with traditional patterns.

The intricate detailing across the mask showcases the skill of Indian metal artisans. Fine engraving, raised borders, ornamental textures and the aged brass finish give the piece a rich antique character, while the expressive facial form captures the powerful visual presence associated with Theyyam.

Mounted on a sturdy black display stand, this piece can be displayed prominently on a console, pedestal, shelf or tabletop. The mask can also be removed from the stand and wall mounted, giving you flexibility in how you choose to showcase it.
